I was very lucky indeed. Had a look at the weather forecast last week and saw that the weather would finally be fine on Friday and on the Saturday it would begin raining again. I decided to go skiing immediately after work on Friday. I took a short video of the scenery that is here above. You have to see the video to understand how fantastic this afternoon of skiing was. It was -8°C and a slight breeze. I was on accompanied by snow and wind.
I skied to a cairn that I have been to before and shown you a picture of here on the blog. There I found the tracks from other skiers that probably were there in the morning. I skied in their tracks until they ended on a hill. Had a drink of water and ate some snacks and continued to the highest hill on the heath, 350 m. And the view was breathtaking! And if you don't have a clue what I mean with weather report it is obvious that you need to read my blog from last summer until now. Enjoy.

What you see is just less than 10% of the weather report piece I am weaving so no wonder that it doesn't look exciting. The pondering in the loom cave during the weekend was really something, I enjoyed myself thoroughly and that is one big part of the creating of art. There are then other days when I feel like what I am doing is not quite right. And not to talk of when I exhibit my work and am rather pleased with the show myself but then wondering what the viewers think and wondering why the bloody media isn't at my exhibition!
In spite of not being a world famous artist (yet) I keep on pondering the loom and spinning the wheel and draw some lines. It is really a glorious way to spend my life along with the skiing! Sometimes it is hard to make up my mind whether I should stay in and weave or go out and ski. I like both immensely and I also know that if I'd only do one of the two for a long time something would go ...because the outdoors are often my inspiration and without that the creating of art would become dull. Of course there is more what inspires me than the weather and the outdoor like our heritage, philosophy and trends. But the outdoors and weather is the background to human creation. Creation that has turned life into the inside. Inside is our towns, villages, buildings and vehicles. Our power plants and plans to control. Humans can't control the weather yet. There are aims to do so in order to get rain to certain regions and have it stay away from other places. But the weather and the forces have a mind of their own beyond the power of human. Humans can send ships across the seas and thought space to other planets. Yes indeed. But to control the whole entire beast, the earth, the space and the other forces, no. Just as well as human is a rather greedy creature and too often without control.
We notice change of climate. We can see that it is partly because of our acts of pollution. But I don't think you can proof that, we are too small and young. There have been changes on earth's climate before our great pollutions and there have been huge incidents that killed a big deal of life on earth, The survivors kept on going with life. Nothing is eternal .The only sure fact of life is that we will die. |
