Yes it is but I went on a holiday and left all devices mundane untouched for a while and that made a fabulous holiday. I intend to relate some of the things I saw and experienced during my holiday here on the blog.
I traveled around eastern Finland and spent nights in a B&B, 2 star hotel, 3 star cottage, 4 star hotel and at 5 star friends guestrooms. I often travel on my own and find it reassuring. On this trip as on others I met strangers that I chatted with and learned new things. I had plenty of time to potter around or take a brisk walk some to where ever it took me. Luckily every place I stayed in had bicycles to borrow or rent and that gave me the opportunity to see more of the places I visited. I visited a cemetery where Finnish soldiers that had been killed in the Winter war and the continuing war between Soviet and Finland are buried . It was a tranquil place and the great amount of crosses was depressing. Wars are depressing chess games of politicians and power thirsty people. The general public suffers the most for something that is really very abstract as a border and a political cause. I think living under the threat of volcanic eruptions is better than the threat of vile humans. These were my thoughts in this sad but beautiful place in Nurmes.
