Went for a very good hike yesterday. Good in many senses. It was 3,5 hours long. It took us up on a mountain called Geitafell (Goats'mountain). I am interested in the Icelandic goat race and place names in Iceland named by goats, kids or bucks. The weather was splendid, not an inch of wind, sunshine was bright and the view. The views. One could see glaciers far away, mountain ranges and islands in the ocean. The autumn colours were bright in the low bushes. And even more so as I was wearing sunglasses that tend to emphasize colours and make them heavenly. The photos by my friend Helga show how the colours were actually, and even without the sunglasses they are lush. There were still blueberries in the bushes. This summer was a prosperous berry year in Iceland. These colours are a perfect inspiration for a piece. Red is lush.

Love seeing the autumnal colours - and great to see the blueberries are still there. We ate enough of them over the days I was with you - they were sweet and juicy! I didnt realise you got the seasons the same way as we have here. Love the colours. I am pleased I got to be there during the luscious berry season :)
